Newly arrived environmentally renewable containers have Ranay, our designer, bamboozled with delight. Eco friendly bamboo containers are available through the floral department at the Cambria Nursery. These versatile containers come in two shades and a variety of shapes and sizes that can be mixed down a long table or nicely clustered in the center of a round table. The containers and arrangements were photographed in our Japanese tea garden located here at the Nursery. Prices range from 8.99 to 15.99 and they are also available to rent for events all year long. These containers are great for both cool spring time arrangements and warm tropical themed arrangments.

Rainy Day Wedding

What do you do when it rains on your wedding day? Create a spring wonderland indoors!

When the monsoon hit on the morning of this wedding we worried, the ceremony was all set to take place in the garden at the Cambria Pines Lodge. The wedding party was rushing indoors under cover of umbrellas, and the bride was doing her best not to get that perfectly white dress muddy. So with an arbor and a couple of trees borrowed from the nursery, lots of greenery, an abundance of flowers and a carpet of rose petals to guide the way down the aisle we brought the garden indoors.

We also loved the ecclectic assortment of vases and jars of all sizes and colors, each with one type of flower, and when all put together they added up to one gorgeous arrangement.

Creative Containers

Typically floral arrangements come in plain glass vases, which then accumulate under our kitchen sinks (or wherever you keep your vases, at my house it’s under the sink.) So why not put your flowers in something a little different, like this adorable birdbath which Ranay found in our gift shop? We also love using antique vases, like the crystal vases in the picture above. Tea Party

This Christmas my daughter received a tea set from her Grandmother. Pouring her an imaginary cup of tea brought memories of my childhood wish for a real tea party with fancy china and real tea, and of course all of the bite sized sweets that come with it. And so, in the spirit of making childhood dreams a reality, we brought to life a tea party in the garden of the nursery this week. Ranay obliged us with a gorgeous spring arrangement in a birdbath from our gift shop, and the girls from Sweet Nothings Baked Goods brought us more treats than we knew what to do with. Heaven!

Succulent Arrangements

Succulents have always been an important presence in our California gardens, they add bold colors and forms to any garden and have an impressive will to live in the face of the brownest thumbed gardener. Now, to our delight, they are making their way into floral arrangements. For this rustic barn event we went with wood boxes, and we mixed our snazzy little succulents with white roses, burgundy kangaroo paws, and hypericum.
